Ilya randomly mentioned this morning that he plans to ask Santa for "more candy corn...since daddy ate it all."
Insert neutral third party opinion- daddy and Ilya ate equal shares :)

Earlier I found Ilya in his room with hands covering his eyes and crying. I was shocked. I stopped and started to ask why he was crying. Ilya stops crying immediately, turns to me and says, "I practice cry." He then threw himself on the floor and started "practicing" again! This went on for a few more minutes. Then he announced, "All done practice crying." and went on with his day. Broadway...here we come!

As I was making oatmeal for breakfast, I asked Ilya to set the table with spoons. He get me a typical spoon but got the absolute largest serving spoon we own for his setting. When I asked why, he told me, "I'm REALLY, REALLY hungry today." Clearly, the larger the hunger...the larger the spoon that is needed!

Ilya does not like bees but he does like T-Rex. Therefore, he has decided that the word "because" needs to be reworked. He now says "tecause". This is not just a mispronunciation by a three year old. This is a well thought out rework of the word. It came with a full explanation this morning including this announcement.
Ilya: No more say because.
Me: What will you say?
Ilya: Tecause.
Me: That's interesting why the change.
Ilya: (looking at his Toy Story 3 dominos, finding the T-Rex/T-Rex domino, holding it up, smiling broadly) Tecause

So what is an "Ilya-ism"...it's a cute saying or comment that I want to remember. Or simply something he said that I hope makes you smile a little like it made me smile :)
Tonight after eating most everything on his plate (and eating rather quickly), Ilya stopped, put his spoon down, wiped the back of his hand across his forehead, then placed he head in his hand and said, "Wheeeewwwww. Spoon is VERY tired. Spoon take a break." To get the full effect---make sure you add A LOT of drama in the voice!
