January can be a bit dull. The excitement of the holidays are done, all the pretty Christmas decorations and lights are packed away (okay...almost packed away) and things start heading back to the normal routine. However, there isn't really the excitement of spring yet. These dreary winter days can really get to a person. Instead of being all down at the overcast, gray days, I decided to start a little project. I am inspired by those around me that are vowing to "be in the moment", enjoy the small things in life and the creative ones that are so good with their camera and documenting all the details. I decided to mix this all together and blog each week about the small moments that really make up life! Click here to read the original post on this project
For the first week, I'm trying to pay attention to the color that is around. It's amazing that when you look and take a minute to appreciate the small things...they really start to add up in a day. From the beautiful green tea leaves with hints of blue and pink petals today (awesome blend of tea that really didn't photograph well) to a few other items I'm loving lately, here are the bits and pieces of color that I stopped to soak up in this otherwise dreary month. What colors are you seeing around you? Blog about it...or just post a few pictures and link up below! Don't have time to join this week...then join next week. Next week capture in picture or words your favorite time(s) of the day.
My little man in his awesome plane jammies (made by Gram)- loving the energy in him and the red of the jammies.
My couch pillows...so comfy and full of great color (photograph really doesn't do them justice)!

And my tea pot...my target clearance find for $2 (don't ask me why it was on clearance--no idea. I didn't argue). It's so cute with little burgundy, yellow and blue flowers!
A fun, warm and colorful scarf bought from a friends Etsy store. I think I've worn this everyday since I bought it!
